One of the benefits of M&B's system was that spamming was subsequently punished severely by comeptent players part of this was due to superior weapon balancing, and part of this was the depth of the combat system.Ĭhivalry abandons this entirely. This leaves the combat feeling very stilted and awkward at times, and spammy at others. It doesn't make use of the same kind of in-depth mechanics, but keeps the superficial "chamber weapon with mouse, and attack" except it does it in a far more restricted way. War of the Roses is essentially M&B-Lite.

It's a good, in-depth system in a visibly aging game. M&B (if you're unfamiliar) did a lot to popularize this genre, and makes use of many directional weapon "chambering" positions, attack strikes, and directional blocking/parrying. The best way to answer this is to describe how they both compare to Mount & Blade: Warband.
